Well, we didn’t name this place Snowhaven for nothin’! I just never expected to be holed up in mid-April thoroughly enjoying our wood cook-stove. Now I just wish the sheep didn’t have to be out there!
It’s not the temperatures or even the snow that are so heinous – it’s the driving wind and snowdrifts that are so problematic. Any paths made with the snowblower don’t stay long. I went out to check on the ewes and lambs and had to backtrack and take a detour, rather than climb through a waist-high drift. Real spring can’t come soon enough!
